Frequently Asked Questions about Electrology

How long do I have to let my hair grow before I can receive a treatment?

As soon as hair grows beyond the surface of the skin it can be treated and removed via Electrolysis. If having an IPL/Class II Laser treatment, you can shave prior to your treatment.

What are the most common areas to be treated?

The most commonly treated areas using IPL/Class II Laser for women are bikini, legs, breasts, sternum, and abdomen strip. Most women treat their chin and upper lip with electrolysis. Men often treat their back, chest, and/or shoulders utilizing IPL/Class II Laser. Electrolysis is often used to treat hair on men’s ears, nose and eyebrows.

Do you treat transgender clients?

Yes. Transgender clients are welcome.

Are treatments expensive?

No. Compared to the temporary and sometimes skin damaging effects of shaving, waxing, and threading, the financial cost can be exorbitant over your lifetime. Unlike big-chain businesses, Lynn is able to provide cost effective treatments for a very moderate fee due to low overhead

How many treatments will I need?

The number of treatments needed depends on your hair growth, density and the method of hair removal you choose. Often times, IPL/ Class II Laser treatments are needed every 4-8 weeks, depending on the area targeted and require approximately 6-8 total treatments, followed by an occasional maintenance treatment after that. Electrolysis generally requires weekly or bi-monthly treatments, decreasing frequency until permanence is obtained.
